WD Mechanical Condensate Drains
8102025007
The Atlas Copco WD80 (8102025007) is an automatic condensate drain for compressed air systems, part of the Industrial Air air-treatment range. Condensate is the water that collects as compressed air cools, and it gathers at the lowest points of a system such as the bottom of an air receiver (the tank that stores compressed air) or a cyclone separator. Left in place it can corrode pipework and carry over into downstream equipment, so the WD80 clears it from these low points automatically.
The drain provides completely automatic drainage of the water that collects, so there is no manual valve to open and no need to check the drain point by hand. Its patented design keeps maintenance to a minimum, which suits installations where the drain point is awkward to reach or inspected only occasionally.
The WD80 handles a maximum working pressure of 20 bar (290 psi) and a maximum working temperature of 70°C, and it will clear up to 200 litres of condensate per hour. That top figure applies when it is fitted with a centre top inlet connection and a pressure-equalising line, so plan the connection to match the volume of water your system produces. The unit measures 260 by 160 by 130 mm and weighs 2.63 kg.
Built to the original Atlas Copco specification, it is a genuine part intended for reliable, long-term operation. Most of the decision sits at the drain point itself, so before ordering look at the clearance beneath the receiver or cyclone separator, how the inlet is arranged on that low point, and whether a pressure-equalising line can be fitted. Get in touch with our team if you would like a second opinion on any of that, or send us a photograph of the drain point and we will talk the installation through with you.
