GA fixed speed compressor
8153647261
The Atlas Copco GA22 P (8153647261) is a floor-mounted, oil-injected rotary screw air compressor built around a 22 kW motor (around 30 hp) and belongs to our GA 15-30 range of industrial screw compressors. It is ready to supply clean compressed air to a busy workshop or production line. In an oil-injected screw compressor the air is squeezed between two meshing rotors — together known as the airend, or compression element — while a controlled flow of oil seals, cools and lubricates them, which is what lets this type of machine run continuously at high output.
Its free air delivery (FAD) — the usable volume of compressed air it actually produces — is 55.9 l/s (118 cfm), and it works at pressures up to 10 bar (145 psi), with a minimum working pressure of 6 bar (87 psi). This is a fixed-speed machine, meaning the motor turns at a constant speed while the compressor loads and unloads to follow demand, which suits steady, continuous air use. Where your demand rises and falls sharply through the day, a variable-speed (VSD) model from the Atlas Copco range can save more energy, so it is worth matching the compressor to your real duty.
It is supplied as a Pack unit, which means there is no built-in refrigerant dryer. It compresses and cools the air but does not dry it on its own, so if your tools or processes need dry air you will want to add a compressed air dryer downstream. Because it is floor-mounted rather than tank-mounted, it should also be piped to a separate air receiver (a storage tank) to give a smooth, stable supply. Both dryers and receivers are available from the Atlas Copco range.
The compressor is managed by the Elektronikon Swipe controller, which handles load control, service and warning indications, error detection and automatic shut-down, with built-in connectivity for monitoring. It is air-cooled, runs at a mean sound pressure level of 68 dB(A), and will accept inlet air up to 46 °C. The three-phase motor is rated to the IE3 standard (an internationally recognised efficiency class for electric motors) and needs a 400 V, 50 Hz supply, while the oil capacity is 12.2 litres and the typical oil carry-over in the compressed air is 2 mg/m³.
Within our catalogue this is the 22 kW model in the oil-injected, fixed-speed 15-30 kW screw compressor Pack family. Before ordering, please confirm the exact part number and your site details so we can match the compressor to your electrical supply and pipework. Get in touch with our team if you would like help sizing the unit, adding a dryer or air receiver, or specifying the right controller options.
